Janet Mbugua Exits Nation Media Group After One Year on ‘Fixing the Nation’

Media personality Janet Mbugua has announced her exit from Nation Media Group, stepping down from her role on the morning programme Fixing the Nation after just over a year.

The announcement was made during her final segment on Friday, April 17, where she has been co-hosting the show alongside Eric Latiff and Mariam Bishar.

Mbugua explained that her decision to join the programme was driven by a desire to extend her advocacy work into mainstream media, particularly during a period of heightened national discourse.

“It was coming off the back of a very intense season in the country that I had already been very vocal about. So it just felt like a natural fit to continue with that advocacy and active citizen lens and bring it onto a mainstream platform,” she said.

Fixing the Nation, which airs every weekday from 6am to 10am across Nation Media Group platforms, has built a reputation for tackling key national issues, focusing on solutions, expert perspectives, and citizen engagement.

Her departure marks the end of a notable stint on the show, where she played a key role in shaping conversations around governance, social issues, and public accountability.

More details on her next move are expected.
