Wash Wash in Bungoma, Man Conned KSH 13.2M In A Dollar Chase.

Dishon Amanya – Bungoma

A business man in Bungoma is in anguish after coming to terms with the loss of his KSH 13.2M to conmen.

Constantine Simati Wafula, who deals with tourism and resort business in Kanduyi, Bungoma county says he was approached by people who sought to have some assistance from him but with some benefits, what he found to be appropriate to his business.

He says one George, a fake identity whose real name was later identified as Samuel Omari requested him to support the processing of USD 6M for Warren Kimotho, who purported to be an orphan whose real name was later found to be Clement Maina Muriithi.

He says the two together with their accomplices Wycliffe Siloli, Victor Ombati Okindo whose real identity is Walter Wekhanya Keya, Robert Hensen and Kerry Marshall, a sum total of 3 Kenyans and 2 foreigners duped him to make several payments in a move to help the orphan Warren get his dollars cleared, what he accepted only to turn up as a con syndicate. The five used the emblem of the International forex firm De La Rue hence convincing him to give in. They promised to pay him dearly, what made him to sell his three prime plots towards the clearing of the dollars which never came by. “Kenyans should be cautioned to be keen when requested to assist others or enter business deals so that they do not fall prey of the money launders,” Constatine said. Clement Maina Muriithi alias Warren Kimotho who was the orphan in the game has been arrested.
