NAROK/BUNGOMA, KENYA, April 23, 2026 — Two separate incidents of violent crime have been reported in Narok and Bungoma counties, leaving a 26-year-old man dead in a stabbing and a 47-year-old woman in a suspected murder case.

In Narok County, a 26-year-old man identified as Likan Lemein was fatally stabbed following a confrontation during a late-night motorcycle ride in Narok Town.

Police say the incident occurred in the early hours of April 22 in the Olepolos area. Lemein had reportedly offered a lift to three people he knew from Ololulunga Trading Centre to Oleshapani.

The group was travelling on a motorcycle when one of the passengers reportedly slipped off near Olepolos, forcing them to stop.

A confrontation then broke out between Lemein and one of the passengers. During the altercation, the suspect allegedly stabbed him multiple times with a sword, inflicting fatal injuries.

He bled and died at the scene.

The incident was reported to Ololulunga Police Station, and officers who responded found that the suspect had already fled.

The body was later moved to Narok County Referral Hospital mortuary, where it awaits a postmortem examination.

Police have since launched a manhunt for the suspect as investigations into the incident continue.

In a separate case in Bungoma County, police in Kimaeti Sub-County are investigating the death of a 47-year-old woman under suspected murder circumstances.

The deceased, identified as Janet Nasimiyu Wafula, was found at Siboti Dispensary, where she had been receiving treatment.

According to police, she had been brought to the facility unconscious on April 21 at around 7:30 a.m. by two unidentified individuals.

She remained under medical care until the morning of April 22, when she was pronounced dead.

Preliminary investigations indicate that Wafula had been working as a casual labourer for a relative in the Mayanja Kibuke area.

It is alleged that she was attacked and sexually assaulted by unknown assailants before being abandoned.

Police processed the scene and collected forensic samples as part of ongoing investigations.

Her body has since been moved to Bungoma County Referral Hospital mortuary pending a postmortem examination.

Authorities say efforts are underway to trace those responsible and establish the full circumstances surrounding both incidents.
