Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education was released yesterday by Education CS Julius Ogamba Migos.
Speaking to the media at their Sikata home on Friday, the scorer applauded her parents’ efforts to ensure that she completes her secondary Education.
She further adds that hard work, dedication and prayers made her score the top grade and emerge the best candidate in the Country.
“I was expecting an A but not of 84 points, I thank God and I would like to be an oncologist in future and pursue my dreams, I would like to advice my others learners outside there to believe in themselves and to have confidence in whatever they are doing and always to strive to be the best at what they do,” she said.
She cited a difficulty in finding a good company to stay with as of the challenge that she encountered while in school.
“It was tough in class eight as my mum had to move to another place and I had to stay with my aunt and uncle but they motivated me, it was also tough because it was during the Covid-19 period but I overcame and got 405 marks in KCPE,” Anyona stated.
In addition, Anyona thanked her parents, teachers, colleagues and the whole school in general for the support they gave her while in school.
“Teachers have been so helpful because I used to approach my teachers for consultation and they were so willing to help me, I thank my parents for supporting me throughout the whole journey for the provision and buying me all the materials I needed in school,” she said.
Her mother Dr. Ruth Mitalo said that she is happy as a parent for her daughter’s stellar performance.
“As a parent I’m so happy about Ivy because she promised when she was in primary school that she will do well and she has made me proud,” Dr. Mitalo said.
Elsewhere, in Chekulo village in Kabuchai Constituency, Abraham Watta, who schooled at Alliance High school managed to get an A plain, thanking God for the gift of life and health.
Watta applauded his parents Caleb Watta and Ruth Lusike for the support to realize the dream.
