Tezrah Malia is an all rounded artist who is known for seamlessly blending vocals with innovative rap techniques.Tezrah Malia delivers a unique musical experience that captivates audience across genres.
How did you get started in your career?
Ever since I was a kid, I’ve had passion for music.I composed songs and could sing them in church. 25/10/2023 I auditioned and become position four, that’s when I started music professionally.
What has been the highlight of your career so far?
A significant milestone in my career came with the release of the break out hit “Pick call “which gained visibility on the screen.The achievement marked a turning point.
What are some of the challenges you faced along the way, and how did you overcome them?
Some of the challenges I faced include:CRITICISM Being new in the industry, I needed a lot of support especially from those around me, I needed to learn and be able to understand the music industry and not to be criticised. Good thing I viewed criticism an opportunity for growth rather than personal attack. COMPARISON I was often compared to other artists which resulted to self doubt,I never lost my real identity thou.
Are there any particular projects or roles that have been especially meaningful to you?
Creating standout projects that define my artistic identity and showcase my unique style and vision have been meaningful to me. I’m also looking forward to partnering with other artists or industry professionals to expand my reach and explore new creative directions. Engaging with audiences through concerts, exhibitions, or showcases, has enhanced my visibility and connected me directly with my audience.
What is your biggest accomplishment that you’re most proud of?
My biggest achievement is the release of my songs “Pick Call,” “Sirudi nyumbani “,and “kizungumkuti “. This accomplishment demonstrates my talent as an artist, making it a proud highlight of my career.
Who or what has been your biggest inspiration?
Overcoming obstacles in the industry drives me to produce meaningful art. Also artists like Nadia Mukami, Okello Max,Wahu e.t.c really inspire me in my music career.
What keeps you motivated in your work?
My passion for music and my “Tezrahlites” my fans really motivated me.The fact that they always support me when I face challenges keeps me going.
How do you handle criticism and setbacks?
I view criticism as an opportunity for growth all the time and I always maintain confidence remembering my past achievements and strengths.
How do you balance your personal life with your career?
I set clear boundaries between work and personal time which helps me allocate specific times for work and personal activities to avoid overlap. I’m always prepared to adapt my schedule as needed.Being flexible has helped me manage unexpected changes.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I enjoy exploring new music,Listening to different genres or discovering new artists inspire my own creativity. I write and compose songs with new sounds, and work on future projects. Also I engage myself in hobbies or activities that help me unwind, such as reading and watching films.
Is there a particular hobby or interest that you enjoy outside of your work?
Yes of course,I love “DIY” activities so much
What advice would you give to aspiring individuals who want to pursue a career similar to yours?
I’ll always advise them to stay resilient,motivated and be prepared to face rejection and criticism because the music industry can be challenging.
What upcoming projects or ventures are you excited about?
I’m excited about an upcoming release I’m currently working on.
Where do you see yourself in the future, both personally and professionally?
In the future, I envision me as an evolving artist who is continuously growing and refining her craft. Becoming a well-known and respected artist in the industry with a significant following and influence . Use my platform to support social or community initiatives. Be a mentor and share my knowledge with upcoming artists so as to shape the next generation of talent.
