A somber mood has engulfed the Migaa area near Salgaa in Molo Constituency after a devastating collision involving a Coast bus and several other vehicles. The accident, which occurred at 4 a.m. on Tuesday, August 20, claimed the lives of eight people and left more than 30 others injured, according to the Kenya Red Cross.
“Thirty-six injured individuals have been transported to Molo and Coptic Hospitals following a road traffic accident involving a PSV bus and multiple vehicles at Migaa in Molo, Nakuru County,” the Kenya Red Cross reported.
The Coast bus, traveling from Kakamega to Mombasa, had an undetermined number of passengers at the time of the crash. The Kenya Red Cross quickly deployed response teams to the scene, with the injured receiving medical attention at Coptic and Molo Hospitals. Rescue operations began on Tuesday morning, with concerns that additional victims may still be trapped in the wreckage of the bus.
