The highly anticipated first edition of the Manyatta Finest Football Tournament kicks off on Thursday at Kenyatta Stadium in Maralal. A total of 20 teams from two of the three constituencies that make up Samburu County have registered for the tournament. The first runners-up will be awarded Ksh 100,000, and the second runners-up will receive Ksh 50,000.
The three-day event will feature 40 matches played on Thursday and Friday at four venues: Kenyatta Stadium, Maralal DEB Grounds, Allamano Hall, and Mwangaza Secondary School Grounds.
The opening match will see Sagumai FC facing NGUTUK FC at Kenyatta Stadium at 8:00 am. EXOTICA FC will play SAMBURU COUNTY ASSEMBLY FC at Allamano Hall at 10:00 am. Lolokwe FC will lock horns with Talanta FC at Maralal DEB Grounds, while TAQWA FC will host PIRATES FC at Mwangaza Secondary School Grounds.
Other key fixtures include LCHEKUTI FC versus NGUTUK FC at Kenyatta Stadium at 12 pm, MILLIMANI UNITED against KIRIMON NYS FC at 2:00 pm, MARALAL ALLSTARS versus PIRATES FC at Mwangaza Secondary School, and SEVILLA FC against SUPER EAGLES at the same venue. The tournament aims to foster unity and sportsmanship among the youths in Samburu County, under the theme “Buy Samburu, Build Samburu.”
