Beneath The Fame – Franky Crazy 254 (Entertainer and Dancer)

Can you introduce yourself and tell us a bit about your background?

My name is Frank Simiyu commonly known as Franky Crazy 254. Based in Umoja-Kayole Eastlands. An entertainer and a dancer. Student at Kenya Methodist University currently a Third year.

How did you get started in your career?

It started my entertainment career as a born joker and from a house full of vibe. My career as a dancer started as a sunday school dancer also born from a family of dancers.

What has been the highlight of your career so far?

• Been a member of crews like the 10/10 academy,Weka Dance,Eastlands Podcast and lowkey Crew
• Performing in high-profile dance pieces and Broadway shows like Nairobi Fest,Cheza Gospel,10over10 and Beatplug
• Receiving awards such as the Eastlands upcoming dancer,contendor at the 2022 memelord pulse awards and Kemu best Entertainer award 2023

What are some of the challenges you faced along the way, and how did you overcome them?

• High levels of competition this challenge i overcame it by networking and have unique appearance
• The pressure to maintain a positive public image and deal with media scrutiny.This one i maintained it by practicing mindfulness and self-care to handle stress and maintain a healthy personal life.
• Financial instability due to irregular work and varying pay.

Are there any particular projects or roles that have been especially meaningful to you?

Being featured in events like the Nairobi Fest,Cheza Gospel and being featured in video songs like Canaan by Chrispo OCS and Anguka Nayo by Weka Tick Prod.

What is your biggest accomplishment that you’re most proud of?

My biggest accomplishment is performing in big platforms Countywide and seeing people appreciating my work.Its like a dream come true

What keeps you motivated in your work?

My parents prayers and a verse a day

How do you handle criticism and setbacks?

• Paying attention to the feedback without interrupting. Understanding the perspective of others can provide valuable insights.
• Avoid reacting defensively or emotionally. Take a moment to process the feedback calmly.
• Use of constructive criticism to make necessary adjustments and improvements.
• Acknowledge that setbacks are a natural part of any journey and not a reflection of your overall worth or ability.
• Establish clear, achievable objectives to move forward.
• Sharing my experiences with trusted friends, mentors, or colleagues. They offer advices, encouragements and a fresh perspective.

How do you balance your personal life with your career?

• Clearly define my work hours and personal time. Avoid letting work spill into my personal life.
• Focus on what’s most important and urgent. Delegate or eliminate less critical tasks.
• Use tools like calendars and to-do lists to manage my time effectively.
• Maintaining open communication with my employer and loved ones about my needs and boundaries.

What do you like to do in your free time?

Football ,Swimming, Bike riding, Watching movies and animations, Sleeping

Is there a particular hobby or interest that you enjoy outside of your work?

I also love Video games and playing soccer.

What advice would you give to aspiring individuals who want to pursue a career similar to yours?

To never give up,work hard,always set goals to be achieved and always put God first.

What upcoming projects or ventures are you excited about?

I’m excited with my crew the Lowkey to be the official dancers of The Beat Plug TV47 and also a happy member and a product of the Weka Dance Ministry under Timeless Noel.

Where do you see yourself in the future, both personally and professionally?

I see myself as a brand ambassador and also a CEO of my own brand and also a role model to some

Never get tired trying untill you make it.
